Beneficiaries: African/Caribbean pupils aged 11-16
This is a study support project that started in 2001, on the Marsh Farm Estate in Luton, providing after school support to African/Caribbean pupils (boys and girls) years 7-11. The project has been working in partnership with the local High School, pupils, parents and wider community to raise the educational achievement levels of pupils from the African/Caribbean community, from 23% to that of the local and national average (52% and 60% respectively (2005)).
The Centre is exploring converting this project into a local Saturday School in response to the demands by parents for a local supplementary school in addition to existing provisions.
